My goodness I love the humor of Shelly Laurenston.

It never matters if I’m in a book slump or not, I can ALWAYS read her books without fear of DNF.  (do not finish)

Hot and Badgered was released on Tuesday (3/37/2018) and I MAY have read it the next day…. no judging me. (hahaha) This is the start of a new series called ‘The Honey Badgers”, however it DOES connect into the Pride series. Lots and lots of characters show up from the Pride series and I would highly recommend you read that before starting this one.

It’s not required that you read the Pride series (it’s 9 books) before diving into this book. I would recommend it either before if you can, but absolutely after reading so you know all the side characters better.

“Not for you, I’m assuming. How often has this happened?”
“A few times over the years.”
“You’ve been shot a few times?”
“Not just shot. There were a couple of knife fights, bar fights. Fight with a pit bull once, but she started it.” – Hot and Badgered, Shelly Laurenston

I was a bit bummed when the Pride series ended but then Shelly did the Crows series and I devoured that as well. I’m excited to be brought back into her shifter world with a new family to follow.

This book follows the MacKilligan sisters and each one of them is a tad crazy. For this book we get to see insight to the oldest, Charlie, and how she deals with the prodigy youngest sibling and the borderline sociopath middle sister. Yeah…. it’s awesome. LOL (I’m thinking I’m #TeamMax on the sisters right now)
Charlie’s had a rough go, well her family on the whole has had a bit of a bumpy ride. She does her best and right when it gets tricky, in walks (or gets shot) a big ole bear shifter that is as laid back as they come.

Berg Dunn is a bear shifter and also a triplet. He gets that family is a bit unusual and also uncontrollable. His character is immediately lovable. (I loved him anyway haha) He balances her well and also has his own crazy family to deal with.

Why do I love these books? They’re full of bada$$ women and so much humor. I can be down in the dumps and these books will make me laugh and smile. This book was no different. The chaos of Shelly Laurenston’s characters are beautiful. There is no downside for reading this.
—Disclaimer: Unless of course you don’t like shifters or romance. In that case, this probably isn’t for you at all.—

Overall, this was a quick and fun read with lovable characters. I would love you all to read it and enjoy it as much as I have haha. If you like strong and empowered female leads, this is for you!

Take this book on vacation or to the beach and savor it! Maybe don’t read it all at once like I did… cuz then you get a book hangover and those are just heart breaking. LOL
